Windows that lean out, and a porch that turned blue.
Two box windows built sixteen inches out from the wall — one with shelves right in the glass — and a front porch wrapped in a Wedgewood Blue enclosure. Here's a real Oshawa project from our books, exactly as we built it.
What the homeowner wanted
More light, more colour, more usable space — without an addition. The kitchen and dining windows became 16-inch projection box windows in custom Ash Gray outside and white inside: a 65×37 twin-casement over the sink, fitted with shelves inside the glass, and a 73×45 casement-and-picture combination beside it. At the front, the open porch became a Wedgewood Blue glass enclosure — a bright, sheltered room where a concrete slab used to be.
What made it hard
- Building out, not just in. A box window is a small structure — projection walls, roof, and a deep sill built off the face of the house, then flashed and finished so it sheds weather for decades.
- Shelves in the glass. The kitchen box was built with shelving inside the projection — a sunlit display nook over the sink, spec'd right on the work order.
- A porch turned glass room. The enclosure went up panel by panel — sliders, fixed lites, and a matching storm door — squared to a decades-old porch that wasn't square anywhere.
- Two custom colours, one house. Ash Gray on the windows, Wedgewood Blue on the enclosure, white inside everything — a palette, not a patchwork.
- Finished on both faces. Every line of the order ends the same way: full interior finish, full exterior finish. No raw edges left for "later."

Both boxes were finished completely, inside and out.
