Security windows & doors for Toronto & GTA homes.

Real security isn't an add-on alarm — it starts with the openings themselves. Direct Windows installs reinforced doors and laminated-glass windows that are genuinely harder to force, sized and specced to your home and neighbourhood.

The fundamentals

What makes a door or window secure.

Security isn't one feature — it's the frame, the locking, the hardware, the glass, and the install all working together. Here's what we look at on every job.

  • Reinforced steel frames and heavy-duty hinges — standard on our entry doors.
  • Multi-point locking systems that bolt at several points, not just one.
  • Grade 1 deadbolts and anti-kick hardware upgrades for added resistance.
  • Laminated or tempered security glass that resists shattering.
  • Properly anchored installation — a strong door in a weak frame isn't secure.

Two ways to harden your home

Security doors and security windows.

Security doors

Our entry doors come with reinforced steel frames, heavy-duty hinges, and multi-point locking as standard. From there you can upgrade to Grade 1 deadbolts, anti-kick door hardware, and security-glass options — a door that's genuinely harder to force without looking like a fortress.

Security windows

Laminated or tempered glass with reinforced frames gives you consistent protection across every opening, not just the door. We'll pay particular attention to the vulnerable spots — ground-floor and basement windows — so there are no easy ways in.

Right-sized for your home

No overkill. No gaps.

We'll recommend the right security package for your home and neighbourhood — without pushing you toward overkill on a quiet street or leaving gaps on a more exposed property.

Good to know

Security FAQs.

What's the difference between laminated and tempered glass?

Tempered glass is heat-treated to be stronger and to crumble into small, safer pieces if it breaks. Laminated glass has a bonded interlayer that holds the pane together and resists penetration even when cracked — which makes it the better choice against forced entry. We'll recommend the right one based on the opening.

Are security doors worth it on a typical home?

Honestly, yes for most homes. Reinforced frames and multi-point locking add real, everyday protection — and they don't have to look like a vault door. We right-size the package to the home, so you get meaningful security without overkill.

Can you add security features to a standard door or window?

Many features — Grade 1 deadbolts, upgraded hardware, and laminated or tempered glass — can be specced into a standard replacement. Some features, like a fully reinforced steel frame, require the dedicated security product. We'll tell you which is which before you decide.

Do these meet insurance or building requirements?

We install to code and can supply spec sheets for the products we fit. If you have specific insurer requirements, check the exact details with your provider — coverage conditions vary — and we'll make sure the spec sheets you need are on hand.
