A complete window-and-door package on one River Oaks home: new casements with matched grills, a sliding patio door, two steel back doors — and a front entry rebuilt under its curved brick arch. Here's a real Oakville project from our books, exactly as we built it.
What the homeowner wanted
Everything renewed at once, so the house reads as one piece. The showpiece is the front entry: a 42-inch mahogany-stained fiberglass door flanked by frosted sidelites, under a custom ellipse transom shaped to follow the existing brick arch — stained the same mahogany inside and out. Around back, a new sliding patio door, two textured-finish steel doors, and casement windows with colonial grills matched across the house.
What made it hard
- Glass that follows the arch. The old sunburst transom came out and a custom ellipse — shaped sandblasted glass in stained wood casing — went in tight to the curved brickwork.
- A 42-inch door, stained both sides. Wider than a builder's standard, with sidelites — the whole system finished in the same mahogany stain inside and out, down to the casing.
- A drawing caught before it became a mistake. The patio door was drawn opening the wrong way on the quote — flagged and flipped before the order went to the factory, not after install day.
- Three finishes, one house. Mahogany at the front, textured Nutmeg steel at the back, white casements with matched colonial grills everywhere — coordinated across two manufacturers.
- The small stuff, written down. Three-inch jamb extensions in the bedrooms and a solid vinyl step casing replacement — in the quote from day one, not discovered as extras.
